The Punxsutawney Area Community Foundation, Inc., PXYCF,

 

is a registered Pennsylvania nonprofit organization and has attained a charitable 501(c)(3) designation from the IRS.

 

Mission:  The Punxsutawney Area Community Foundation, Inc. develops, invests, and distributes resources to charitable not-for-profits in the greater Punxsutawney area, nurturing organizations which positively impact the quality of life and the economic opportunities of the community and its members.

 

The services available through the community foundation include:

 

🗹 Opportunity for individuals to create a legacy through establishing an endowment to support their interest in the community.

 

🗹 Support the development of scholarship funds to assist local students to advance their education.

 

🗹 Support for charitable not-for-profit organizations wishing to maximize the return on their investments.

 

🗹 Coordinate training and technical assistance for local not-for profit organizations to improve their capability to serve.

What does the Punxsutawney Area Community Foundation, Inc. (PXYCF) do?

 

PXYCF supports local charities within the geographic boundaries defined by the Punxsutawney Area School District.  The foundation is a public charity which encourages and pools donations to support local not-for-profits and address community needs.

PXYCF helps the community by facilitating community engagement, empowering problem solvers, building coalitions around a common cause, and supporting the operations and building the capacities of direct service providers.

 

How does PXYCF work?

 

The foundation is managed by a Board of Directors which oversees the receiving of charitable gifts, managing of charitable assets, and making charitable grants.  PXYCF offers a variety of funds to help donors achieve their charitable goals while meeting community needs.  PXYCF also conducts programs and activities that help to improve the Punxsutawney area where we live, work, and play.
